Shaunie Hylton Winner of 2018 Regis Obijiski Growing the Profession Scholarship

Shantia (“Shaunie”) Hylton was honored on 1-18 as NHR’s 2018 winner of The Regis Obijiski Growing the Profession Scholarship. The scholarship perpetuates the legacy of Regis Obijiski’s commitment to the development of direct support as a true profession.

Shaunie has worked at NHR since 2011 and is currently an Administrative Counselor at Pleasant Ridge IRA. She is enrolled at SUNY Empire College where her area of study is Community and Human Services.

Apart from Shaunie (and her mother who came to celebrate her daughter’s achievement), guests of honor included NHR’s former Executive Director Regis Obijiski who presented the scholarship check to Shaunie and Mary Moody whose generosity has made this scholarship possible.
