New Horizons Fall Into Fashion Show 2019
At the New Horizons Resources 16th Annual Fall Into Fashion Show, NHR staff, the people we support, local businesses and the Hudson Valley Community joined together to create a fundraising event that also promoted local fashion stores throughout the Hudson Valley.
People receiving supports from New Horizons played an integral role in making the evening a success. More than a third of the models received supports from New Horizons. People receiving supports also worked as volunteers in the show by delivering gifts to the raffle winners.
The evening started with cocktails and plentiful hors d’oeuvres so guests had time to socialize before the show. There was also a raffle with donations from local vendors and NHR supporters. Clinton Corners resident, Michael Brenner brought the cocktail hour to a close by singing three songs for the attendees.
Poughkeepsie clothing stores Banana Republic and Simplicity, as well as Special Occasions from Fishkill returned from last year. Elizabeth Boutique and Sierra Lily, both from Poughkeepsie had participated in prior years and returned again after a few year’s absence. Past ‘N Perfect from Pleasant Valley and Karina Dresses from Kingston were welcome newcomers. Marlene Weber Salon and Day Spa from Poughkeepsie also joined us, styling the models hair and doing makeup to ensure a stunning professional look.
The stores could create both a daytime and going out look so people could see the many options a store has to offer. Michele Taylor, co-host of “Wake Up with Joe and Michelle” on i-heart radio Q92 hosted the show with a detailed commentary that personalized the story of each model and provided detailed descriptions of the store’s clothes and accessories.
Between each set, with the help of people receiving supports from New Horizons we were able to give out the prizes to the many raffle winners. Thanks to all these donors and attendees, we had a successful event for both participants and guests.
